Job Summary

Creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the facility.

Reports to: Environmental Services Supervisor

FLSA: Non-exempt 

Essential Functions

Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation.
Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area when finished with shift.
Non-Essential Functions
Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.Completes work assignments in a timely manner.Trash/ Hazardous Waste Transporter transports trash and hazardous waste from dirty utility room to appropriate disposal area. EVS Housekeeping attendant transports trash and hazardous wastes to dirty utility room.
Organizational Expectations
Completes annual education requirements.Maintains regulatory requirements.Adheres to the ES1 & BMC Caring Standards Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly.Attends at least 75% staff meetings annually.Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
